I agree that this book is not a great piece of piece of literature.

But, it is a very entertaining potboi This was my second Sidney Sheldon novel. But, it is a very entertaining potboiler indeed.

Now let's come to the story. There is serial killer out there! Men are just not being murdered but their bodies are horribly mutilated.

The killer operates across countries. Then there are three very attractive young women with different natures and nationalities. They are somehow in the middle of all these.

The book is chilling - I loved the atmosphere of suspense and tension. All the trademark ingredients of Sidney Sheldon novels such as sex, deception, betrayal, dark secrets, ulterior motives, greed, opportunism have been skilfully used.

I enjoyed how the author portrayed the dark psyche of human beings. If there are perverts hiding behind a facade of respectability then there are some very decent people as well.

The mystery, the suspense, the tension - all these make the novel a very engrossing read.

The author has thrown about a few clues here and there. It is shown that Ashley, Toni and Alette have very different natures but Toni and Alette get along very well whereas Alette is friendly with Ashley but Toni is very harsh to her. Also in the primary stage of the novel, few murders are committed in a similar fashion suspecting one person after all these.

Ashley is a reserved workaholic person who feels very isolated and later in the novel it is exposed that why is she feels like this. Though she likes him but not so keen to remain in his company and usually avoids him.

Toni has a great liking for song but gone through a much stressed relationship with her mother. Alette on the other hand is a prodigious artist and God gifted but lacks self-confidence. Towards conclusion it is exposed that Toni and Alette are not the real individuals but in fact the alters or split personalities of Ashley.

She had developed Dissociative Identity Disorder as she was sexually abused by her father when she was an adolescent. How both the alters are designed and why these are actually formed is very attention-grabbing.

Toni shows her anger towards what has happened to her. There are no reviews yet. Not all that looks well on the outside — like an innocent and beautiful appearance, reflects what is on the inside. It is a universal problem that requires concerted action — by therapists, family members, police authorities, social workers, the community-at-large, and so on.

The context helps highlight the dual personalities of several characters in the novel, like Ashley Patterson and Dr, Steven Patterson.

Three beautiful young women are suspected of committing a series of brutal murders. Ashley admits that her co-workers, the outgoing and merry Toni Prescott, and the shy and lonely painter Alette Peter are not real, when she says to Dr.
